Your Wedding Proposal Plan Starts Here.

Prepping for a wedding proposal may not be as simple as you think, but it doesn’t have to be complicated, either. Here is your wedding proposal to-do list to make sure you are prepped and ready to create the proposal of your partner’s dreams.

  1. Any good wedding proposal plan starts with choosing the date.

Keep both your schedules clear that day so you can celebrate after!

Decide in advance whether you want to celebrate with friends and family, or whether you want to keep that celebration between the two of you. If you want friends or family involved, make sure to give them plenty of notice!

  1. Pick your site.

Whether indoors or out, make sure you scope the site days before to be sure it’s available and as picturesque as you imagine. (You don’t want to get to a park to find it’s under construction!)

If you’re planning to do your wedding proposal on vacation, do a little research ahead of time to find potential sites, then plan your days so you can be in the right place at the right time, whether that’s a beach at sunset or a midmorning hike.

Consider staging the scene with photos, mementos of your love, candles, rose petals, or anything else that creates the atmosphere you’re hoping for.

  1. Plan your photos.

If you want professional photos, hire a photographer. If you want candid images, make sure you have a trusting friend or family nearby, ready to snap or video the moment.

For stunning proposal photos and videography in Minnesota, we love Beyond the Pines. They specialize in capturing moments as unique as you.

  1. Get Manicures!

Either come up with a reason for your person to get a manicure or go together for a silly nail spa date. But trust us on this—you’ll both want your nails looking good in ring photos.

  1. Have your proposal first aid kit ready.

This is basically a pack with tissues, waterproof mascara, a bottle of water (and maybe something stronger), a just-in-case umbrella, and maybe even face powder in case the proposal causes mega tears.
